Tom Study has made a name for himself blending past, present and future sounds into an eclectic, soulful and heady mix. A diverse and deep record collection sees his sets span any number of genres, tempos or styles, all with a sound heavily rooted in soul based music and its various forms. He is also one half of Midnight Swim – a record label, parties series and radio show known for pushing all kinds of sounds from across the world and a regular fixture on Bondi Beach Radio and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM.
Also an in demand music curator and programmer he is behind many of Sydney’s most progressive parties and events, regularly called upon to add experience and depth to line ups, festivals and out of the box ideas. He has played alongside the likes of Bradley Zero, Ge-ology, Mark De Clive-Lowe, Steve Spacek, Alexander Nut, Fatima, Mo Kolours, Tall Black Guy, Mndsgn, Nubya Garcia, Touching Bass, Sauce 81 and many others.
Whether it’s keeping crowds moving to rare grooves, tropical rhythms, electronic vibes or promoting music deeply drenched in beats, soul or jazz the mission is to expose quality sounds not only to move to but also educate and inspire. The idea is simple, if it feels good play it.
